Crime rising in Frederick County as 1990 figures show more activity
News-Post staff reports that Frederick County's growing population coincides with higher crime. Maryland State Police in Frederick logged one homicide, 15 rapes, 21 robberies, 428 aggravated assaults, 242 break ins, 716 thefts, 61 motor vehicle thefts, and 2,649 criminal investigations in 1990, with arrests down and juvenile cases up. Local towns Brunswick and Thurmont also report more calls and cases, including drug activity, DWI totals, and disorderly conduct.
