Sweadner outlines deficit in Frederick County budget
Frederick County Budget Officer Mark Sweadner warned Rotary Club members of looming revenue shortages this year. He cited a $750,000 cut in state aid and possible shortfalls in income tax, highway fees, recordation fees, and investment earnings, with only $10 million of $41.6 million expected income tax collected in six months. Depressed revenues may force department cuts as the county seeks to close a multi-million gap.
