Montgomery County adopts AIDS policy for students and staff
The Montgomery County Board of Education approved a policy requiring students and staff with active AIDS to report to principals or supervisors. The plan follows Maryland and CDC guidelines, reviews cases case by case before homebound instruction or reassignments, and excludes positive antibodies from reporting. It also outlines confidentiality concerns and disciplinary options, and opposes a General Assembly bill to exclude and home instruction all AIDS cases.
