Maryland glaze coats Frederick area in ice and snow

An overnight ice storm left Frederick coated in a glassy Maryland glaze causing cautious driving and light traffic. Power outages affected several businesses but crews worked through the night as police reported a quiet scene apart from a few slide offs and a tractor trailer jackknife on I-270. Snow measures ranged from 2.75 to 5 inches with temperatures in the low 30s, and a wintry mix continued into Friday night with a Sunday shower outlook.

Police report icy conditions cause numerous accidents

Humphrey dies after long cancer battle in Minnesota
