Three Libertytown sites eyed for sewage plant
Frederick County considers three Libertytown area locations for a 50 000 nation a day sewage treatment plant. State tests show septic problems and a 1 million sewer project has long been planned. Civic group favors a site on Md 75 near Jones Road for a park and play space for children. Public Works Director Johnson says the decision lies with the county commissioners. The county hopes for grants to add a public water system after the sewer work, as about 17 percent of homes lack indoor plumbing. A public meeting is planned with county leaders.
