Furnace salesman freed by Ohio jury in Canton case
Lorain salesman Wilbur Heldman was acquitted by Stark county jurors who found insufficient evidence to prove moral murder in the death of his 21 year old wife Margaret. He testified she shot herself as they neared Canton after confessing to the prior slaying of Vernard Fearn at his home south of Canton. The case centered on prior accusations and the wife’s final gunshot wound as they drove toward Canton to turn her over to authorities.
