A court convicted Haan and his wife on the charges before them and imposed fines. They received terms with imprisonment in addition to probation or time served as determined by the judge.
Hannah Hahn was fined 700 dollars plus costs and given three months in the House of Correction for selling liquor to Joseph Shane. She received an additional 2300 fine and three months for selling intoxicating liquor to Guy Stultz, to run concurrently. William Halep, Hahn’s brother, was fined 36 dollars and three months for selling liquor to Stake and for disorderly conduct. jail terms to run first. Charles Hargett was found not guilty of selling liquor. Hahn plans an appeal. trial occurred in a crowded courtroom. The case stemmed from a raid on the Hahn home last Sunday evening.

Middletown Pa Jan 12 a toll of the army airplane crash at Royalton near here yesterday was added when Sergeant Patrick Conroy of New York City died in a hospital at Narmevurr. Conroy had been the sole survivor of the crash in which one officer and six enlisted were killed. The body of Charles FE Nogle, 83, was found hanging by a rope in his Shiloh home by his son Roy Friday morning around 9. Coroner L A Zech arrived, removed the rope, and listed hanging with personal crisis as the cause. Nogle had lived alone since his wife’s death, delivered milk each morning, and was active in Mt Tabor Lutheran church and fraternal orders. He is survived by his son Roy, siblings, six grandchildren, and many relatives. Funeral services are planned at Roy Nogle’s home and Mt Labor Lutheran church in Rocky Ridge, with interment at Mt Tabor cemetery.
An explosion in the Loop destroyed the front of a gambling‐friendly store near the Martin Hotel, marking Chicago's sixth bombing this year. Police attributed the act to a gamblers’ war. hotel guests were awakened as windows shattered. Also noted: divorce granted to Ponce Hammond Welty from Constance M. Welty.
An 18 year old Washington youth confessed to robbing the American Oil Company office on East Church Street extension and stealing a 200 pound safe. He also admitted to crashing a Durant sedan into a herd of horses, injuring a driver and fatally injuring one horse, while fleeing with two companions. Police say the suspect and others may be linked to further capital area crimes, with Millerd in custody and other youths at large.
Detroit January 12 AP Arraigned today on a charge of rum with intent to kill her wealthy designee Grace M Wood was held in 955000 bond for examination on February 22. Three men, Pierce and Willem Thompson and Ambre Haguerty, were also held for examination amid a police ambuscade tied to a story Cecil Holt told police about Reuben Wood.
