Hoke warns BoE budget faces tough test in Frederick County
Frederick County Commissioners President Mark Hoke warned the county may not fund the school system’s FY 1996 budget, saying the county has $4.5 million less to allocate and that the $176 million plan seeks $105 million from the county. School leaders push for $10 million more locally, while the board resists tax hikes and weighs budget cuts or bonds to cover the shortfall.
