Redskins Confident in Stop Plan for Run and Shoot
Washington defenses after coaching insight from Tom Rossley have shown resilience against the run and shoot. In four games this season they allowed an average 9.3 points and 221 yards to four-wideout offenses, while the rest of the league averaged 22.7 points against them. The unit relies on diverse coverages and aggressive turnovers to disrupt the opponent, with 19 takeaways in four games and a 43 percent conversion rate on turnovers overall. Barry Sanders adds a new challenge for Detroit, as Washington seeks playoff success and a possible Super Bowl bid.
