Md. Auto License Fee Boost Favored by County Board
Frederick County commissioners pressed for higher auto license fees during a grass roots meeting at the Francis Scott Key Hotel. They backed the Governor's veto of a delay bill and urged local bills to raise audit funds, add a county commissioner to the School Board, and empower the county engineer on access standards and bridge rules. The statewide bill would return fines from municipal arrests to municipalities, with discussions on how the funds are shared between county and city authorities.
