Deadly crossing claims seven lives in Martin Ohio

George Baker and six family members died when his car stalled at an unmarked railroad crossing on Conrail main line near Martin. A train crew member noted the car stopped then crossed, while witnesses described sparks and bodies ejected as the 63 car Conrail freight train dragged the vehicle 200 feet. Survivors included Baker’s wife Gladys and children Debbie 20 and Terry 5, with several family members from Port Clinton staying with relatives nearby. Residents had long petitioned for lights at the crossing but costs prevented installation.

Judicial contest for Maryland district court seat in 1978 race

Obscenity law questioned by Maryland judge ruling

Anne Arundel County judge Bruce C Williams ruled that employees cannot be held liable for a business that shows or sells products lacking the state Board of Censors seal. Van used in $65 armed robbery vanishes amid clues

Police in Forest Park Illinois seek a blue getaway van described with a picture window and a mural of two semi nude go go dancers parachuting from a passing airplane. Three suspects used the van in a December 27 robbery of a man. Also noted is the Em maitsburg Lifelong Learning Council meeting set for January 12 at 7 30 p.m.
