State backs study center in Cambridge
ANNAPOLIS AP The Board of Public Works approved an agreement that Cambridge will give the state 789 acres on the Chaplain River for a University of Maryland study center at Horn Point. The plan lets the state own the land even if the center isn’t built, while Cambridge can veto other projects there. The center would focus on environmental and estuarine studies, water pollution solutions, and farming Chesapeake Bay waters for better fish and shellfish crops.
