Hance backs revised Maryland land preservation bill
Maryland Agriculture Secretary Hance told MASCD on December 12 he supports the revised 1976 agricultural land preservation bill to be considered by the General Assembly next month. The bill drops a minimum district size, makes joining voluntary, and delays easement payments five years due to no state funds. MASCO backed farmland assessment and urged district involvement in the 208 planning process.
