County Officials Estimate $75,000 To Replace Bridge
County officials weighing options after the Gas House Pike Bridge over Linganore Creek collapsed Saturday when a milk truck skidded on ice and struck the corner. The 92 foot span cannot be repaired. a new structure may cost about $75,000 and could be temporary or permanent. Federal aid is available, and a new bridge should have straight approaches. The incident follows recent local bridge closures and repairs in the Linganore Creek area.

The Frederick News and Post reached an all time combined annual circulation of 20,581 for the year ending last Sept 30 per Audit Bureau data. The Post 11,192 and the News 9,389. up 354 copies from 1962, a 1.75 percent rise, outpacing the U.S. national rate. The last quarter shows combined daily paid circulation of 20,796.

Frederick City Officer Suspended Over Domestic Warrants
Frederick Maryland police sergeant William A. Boone Jr. has been suspended indefinitely after his wife, Mrs June Myers Boone, swore out a warrant charging him with assault and battery on New Year's Eve. Boone was released on $1000 bond. no trial date set. Chief Charles V Main announced the suspension following the warrant. Boone has served with the city force since November 1951.

Baltimore man held after weekend break ins and robbery
Three break ins were reported by City Police over the weekend with Welty Eugene Nikirk, 31, of Baltimore, charged on two counts including petty larceny and breaking and entering. He was captured after the Blue and Grey Restaurant burglary on West All Saints Street when a window was broken and $1510 taken from a cash register. Police pursued him through Mullinix Park and caught him at the old Virginia House. Other targets were Masser Sinclair service station on West Patrick Street and Baer's Restaurant on East Street, both entered through broken windows with cash and machines damaged. total sums were undetermined. Police continue investigation.

Two Brunswick Men Held For Grand Jury Action
Two men from the Brunswick area Milton Eugene Boyce 30 and John William Thompson 37 were ordered held for action by the grand jury in a preliminary hearing before Magistrate Stanley Y Bennett. They were arrested at their homes after theft of five cutting torches from the B and O Railroad shops in Brunswick on November 29 fe. Scott V. B.
