Ponds across Frederick Carroll and Montgomery counties report bass up to 14 inches and bluegills to 9 inches due to fertilization and fishing pressures. The Soil Conservation Service offers pond design, fertilization, and erosion control advice, noting pond water storage aids flood control and enables farm recreation. Affected ponds were stocked December 13 with numerous growers and residents listed in Montgomery and Frederick counties.
