Frederick County will spend less in 1955 than in 1954 with a total budget of 2 355 598 75 down from 2 374 359 52. Seven Years For Petersen
Alexandria January 4 Former NSA analyst Joseph S Petersen Jr received a seven year prison term under the Espionage Law for storing classified documents at his apartment. Judge Albert V Bryan said Petersen deliberately violated trust with serious potential national security consequences. Petersen pleaded guilty December 22 and two related counts were dismissed.
