Maxwell named assistant superintendent at Maryland State Reformatory
Lieut. Cok W. E. Maxwell USMC retired, former Mare Island commander, will become assistant superintendent of the Maryland State Reformatory for Mares effective February 1, announced by Henry Russell Raymond who was appointed superintendent at Brethesville. Maxwell, 50, Alabama native and Naval Academy graduate, led Marines at Guadalcanal and later commanded the Mare Island disciplinary barracks for which he earned Navy and Marine Corps commendations. Moving to Scotland Glasgow January 4 7 reports a Remington Rand plant from Bridgeport Conn to Glasgow to manufacture typewriters and electric razors with Board of Trade approval. First shipment expected January 12 aboard the US ship. Plant valued at 2 million dollars.
