Former King Enters U S Mone In Austria
Former King Mihai of Romania travels by special train from Austria to Switzerland, crossing into the American occupied zone at the Enns River border. Queen Mother Helen did not accompany him, and no crowd greeted the border stop. A brief Austrian border check preceded a 10 minute layover at Linz before continuing toward Salzburg. The king's secretary offered little comment on whether a personal abdication statement was drafted.
