Apples For Dental Week At University Of Maryland
During Children’s Dental Health Week February 7 to 13, University of Maryland School of Dentistry will give apples to visiting children aged 3 to 10 at the pediatric clinic to promote healthy eating alongside brushing. Dentists emphasize apples supplement brushing, not replace it, and 2000 apples were arranged by E W Lins of Hagerstown through the Maryland State Apple Commission.

Gleason orders fulltime nurse at Detention Center
Montgomery County Executive James P. Gleason announced the immediate hiring of a fulltime nurse for the Detention Center from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m after the death of a 38 year old inmate under undetermined causes with preliminary reports noting epileptic seizures. The inmate death marks the sixth at the center in two and a half years. Autopsy results awaited today.
