Frederick civic council forms with election of officers
Named new club president C Sean Bussard of the Opti must club was elected president of the Frederick Council of Service and Civic Organizations. Charles Sanne was elected vice president with Rhian Eshleman as secretary and Charles E Henson as treasurer. The group adopted a constitution to promote cooperation among 15 of 20 member organizations and will meet monthly on the first Tuesday.

The Frederick Counts Zoning and Planning Commission held its first public meeting of the new deal week to discuss nine advisory committees the draft interim ordinance and possible federal aid no decisions were made. Attending were chairman Daniel E Wight commissioners William Bross Jr Bruce Crum Noah Alefauver Jr and executive secretary Thomas L Dunn. The group will attend the January 5 Montgomery County Planning Commission hearing in Rockville.

About 1400 mink are to be fed with whale fat under government sponsorship. New ranches are set to operate in Trinity and Bonavista bays. The 1955 plan involves 6600 pothead whales driven ashore for fat to support mink meals.
