A jumbled Union Bridge column reports local residents traveling visitors and events. Details include funeral services for Dr M A Pestager, multiple family visits during the holidays, and thanksgiving for lighting displays. Delegates from Union Bridge visited legislators to urge approval of two prohibition measures and opposition to a race track gambling bill and Sunday opening. Miss Olivia Angen and Miss Catherine Easterday visit a grandmother in Emmitsburg.

Unclear OCR snippet on ambassador Merrick and recovery

An imperfect fragment mentions Merrick, a 74 year old associated with the United States at Paris 1953, recovering after a stroke or attack. It references Dr Philops and a figure tied to the American embassy and a Paris posting, with disjointed phrases about a beloved ambassador and a Cleveland report.
