Israel plans wanted list of Hamas leaders after bombings
Under pressure after two deadly bombings Israel moves to crack down on Hamas. Palestinian police say over 120 militants detained, with Hamas denying most are leaders. Prime Minister Peres seeks to disarm Hamas as Arafat meets with Shahak to discuss arrests and a list of about 10 wanted Hamas leaders including Mohammed Deif. The two self-bombers tentatively identified are Majdi Abu Wardeh and Ibrahim Sarahneh, with attacks blamed on Gaza planned cells and a refugee camp near Hebron. The crisis hits Peres’ standing ahead of May elections.
