Feather Case To Washington County Slaying of Wife
State's Attorney Robert Rothenhoefer said Keith Feather will be tried in Washington County for the January 28 slaying of his 29 year old wife Betty Jo Feather. Feather has been jailed in Frederick County awaiting a preliminary hearing before possibly a grand jury. The case raised jurisdiction questions as the victim was found dead in Maryland after being killed near Winchester Virginia.

James Grove To Chair Blood Group Committee in Frederick County
James Grove yesterday accepted the chairmanship of a committee to establish a regular Red Cross blood-donor schedule in Frederick County. The move follows a mass meeting held Tuesday night to test civic sentiment toward a bloodmobile program. The full committee, to be announced next week, will handle financial and organizational arrangements with Red Cross supervision and a staffed mobile unit from the Washington Regional Blood Center. The unit plans 18 trips a year and about 2700 pints of blood annually. Frederick postmaster James Grove has chaired the Key American Legion blood program since 1946 and has donated nearly five gallons of blood. A separate snow accident on West Seventh Street caused minor damage with no charges. Ronald Spearman, 26, of Rantallistown, died in a car crash on Liberty Road.
