MRA under scrutiny as religious group with vast holdings
The article outlines MRA registered as a religious organization in New York and with the IRS, its alleged inclusive recruitment, leadership linked to a former Lutheran minister Buchman, and its evolution from Oxford Group to Moral Re-Armament. It notes substantial assets, big-ticket productions, and large-scale booklets and mass mailings, with declining budget clarity but rising income and tax-exempt status. It also reports a fatal fire incident in Virginia involving a fireman, Robert K. McDaniel.
