William H. B. Anders Dies After Gun Wound
William Holland Beane Anders Sr., prominent Frederick banker, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital from a self inflected bullet wound in his car at Ideal Garage. He rose from Union Bridge clerk to president of Citizens National Bank and later led the bank after consolidation. Survived by wife Margaret Lyon Anders and son William H. B. Anders Jr. He served in World War II and held many civic roles.
