FCC to raise tuition 9 percent for June term

Frederick Community College will hike tuition 9 percent starting next June after a Wednesday board vote. Full time students in the county paying 835 for 15 credits will pay 900. the material fee rises to 86.25 per semester while part time fees go to 17.25. The increase covers about half of the 1994 budget rise of 601,220 with operating costs and salaries driving the change. Health insurance is projected to climb by 100,009. the college plans to seek county approval for the budget changes.

Soldier shot in domestic dispute at Fort Detrick home

Specialist Ryan Gesner 22 was critically wounded Wednesday evening when shot in the abdomen at his Willowdale apartment during a domestic dispute with Carmen Friedewald-Hill 26. Four county schools adopt four period day with Thomas Johnson model
