Pizza Hut clerk abducted in Frederick escapes in Hagerstown

A 23 year old Pizza Hut clerk abducted from the Frederick store convinced her assailant to let her drive toward Hagerstown where she fled into the city police department on Burhans Boulevard. The suspect James M Gibson, 32, was later held in Rawson West Virginia in a separate shooting case. Police pursued reports of shots fired on Madison and West South streets before the abduction. Gibson faces multiple charges including assault with intent to murder and possession of a handgun.

City man Robert Evans Jr. found dead in Frederick

An 80 year old Frederick City resident, Robert A. Evans Jr., was found stabbed repeatedly in the neck and face inside his Prospect Plaza apartment. Police say evidence at the scene indicates homicide. Neighbors were asked for information and a flyer was left at doors. Evans, a longtime security worker at Fort Detrick, was a familiar figure in the area. The city notes this murder is the third in Frederick County this year.
