Dutch government plans more nuclear power plants
The Netherlands with no nuclear power on line plans for two to three new plants to secure industry energy into the next decade. Prime Minister Lubbers’ center-right government pushes ahead despite a 30 month study showing public opposition and alternative energy options. A second plant near Borsele, one near Delfzijl, and potentially a third near Rotterdam are proposed, seen as defiance of anti-nuclear lobby.
