Parental Rights in Education Letter Boosted by Maryland Coalition
The Maryland Coalition of Concerned Parents released a sample letter to assert parental rights under Hatch Amendment regulations. The group, formed 10 years ago to oppose psychological probing and privacy invasions, urges schools to obtain written parental consent before any controversial curricula. The letter lists areas to review and approve, including psychological testing, values clarification, sexual education topics, and non academic assessments, arguing schools lack authority to inflict such materials without parent consent.
