Yale and Princeton Revamp Aid to Ease Middle Class Burden
Yale University will exempt up to 150000 of a family’s assets from aid calculations and keep tuition, room and board under 30000 next year. Princeton will stop counting home equity for many families and boost grants while reducing loans for lower incomes. Both aim to keep middle income families from depleting retirement savings or home equity, pressuring rivals to follow suit.
