Federation plans suit over seating for blind airline passengers
The National Federation of the Blind plans to sue USAir alleging civil rights violations after a blind passenger was not seated near an emergency exit. A protest at Washington Nations Airport delayed a USAir flight, and USAir defended its policy restricting seating in the exit row for certain passengers. The Americas Council of the Blind opposed the protests, arguing disruption impedes improvements in treatment for the blind.
