Washington February 9 AP observers expect the Supreme Court to announce a decision date on the gold clause cases Monday Chief Justice Hughes was anticipated to reveal a date at the Saturday conference but no opinion was expected today.
The Frederick city refinancing bond issue bill moved to its third reading in the Maryland House. Dele gate Ramsburg of Frederick said the plan sells 35000 new bonds on April 1 to retire 29264.58 in old bonds, saving about 1000 annually. The 64000 issue dated April 28, 1910, is the basis, with support from the Frederick county delegation and interest mounting in other municipalities seeking similar measures.
The February term of Carroll County Circuit Court includes a $10,000 suit by Barry Gelyicks of Emmittsburg for his daughter Marie Frances who was allegedly injured in a August automobile accident. Ethel Gelwicks sues for $1,000. Also on docket Joseph Reynolds of Middleburg sues Earl Angell for $1,030 after his son Lester was injured in an assault. The term begins Monday.

Six Frederick banks in the Frederick Clearing House Association announce that service charges on checking deposits under fifty dollars will take effect February fifteenth. Nationally, banks have long imposed charges as operating costs rise. Details will be explained to interested depositors.
Washington February 9 Rexford G Tugwell will attend some meetings of the new Agriculture Adjustment Administration operating council. Officials said there is no plan to exclude the department and Tugwell, the under secretary and a leading liberal, from council deliberations. He will gain greater influence over policies than before.

The ship with Phillips Lord aboard is amid extreme seas with high walls of water. No damage or injuries reported as winds near gale force. The Duke of Gloucester accompanies the cruiser.
New York reports a cautious market as traders take small profits after modest gains. Transfers reach about 300000 shares while the lack of selling pressure restrains enthusiasm for a bull run. The pound opens at 4.88 and commodities rise led by rubber and hides with bonds firm and government notes mixed.
Mrs Edgar Allen Harmon a 31 year old mother of seven from Ottanna Pa near Gettysburg was brought to Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore for examination after 35 days of a strange sneezing attack The condition began five weeks ago and at times she sneezed for as long as an hour during the worst episodes The hospital reported the rapid sneezing followed a first treatment and was considered part of the course of examinations.
The Danish freighter Lisland with 22 crew and a $250000 cargo of sugar ran aground on a shoal near Sharp's Island. The coast guard cutter Apache freed the ship early today.
Miss Clara Kline of 139 North Market Street is at Frederick City Hospital after a Friday ice fall that caused a broken left arm. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment of the injury.
Police court tonight hears charges of drunkenness and dis orderly conduct against G R Weraver who was arrested overnight by Officer Phobus. He remained jailed for lack of $10 collateral.
The Maryland Classis of the Reformed Church will mark the twentieth anniversary of the Women s Missionary Society with a spring observance and the society s annual meeting. A Tuesday afternoon meeting at the YMCA will finalize plans and consider projects of the Classical Missionary Society. Representatives from Frederick, Washington and Carroll counties are expected. The anniversary may be held at Christ Reformed Church in Middletown late March or early April.
The Garden Club of Frederick held a well attended meeting at Mrs. Joseph H. Apple’s Rockwell Terrace home. Reports covered the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland in Baltimore and a spring opened garden center on North Bentz street. Plans call for reopening the center and inviting community seeds and gardening info. The program featured readings on flowers and dry ground plantings. Refreshments followed. Also noted were Scout activities in Rock Creek Park and a Boy Scout broadcast marking the movement’s twenty fifth anniversary. Robert F. Nicodemus presides over the Frederick City Council. In a separate item, Hedwig L. Eichenberg of Washington, D. C., pleaded guilty to using expired vehicle tags in Frederick and paid a $10 fine after the officer cited her 1934 plates. She claimed no knowledge the law prohibits extensions for new tags.
The state presented a photograph near the close of the trial to support claims about the ladder evidence. Analyzed by fingerprint expert Dr. Erasmus Hudson who testified he saw a single nail hole, arrows in the image indicate two holes.

Washington February 9 AP search for Jane Cooke of Chevy Chase Maryland socialite who eloped two weeks ago with chauffeur George Scarlett and disappeared two days ago. Friends suspect she may have gone to Belfast Maine to visit an aunt unnamed. Scarlett faced a theft charge for jewelry worth 5000 brought by her mother, later dismissed, and he returned home to find his bride gone with a note saying she wanted to get away.

In Havana on February 9 a mob of Domin ican exiles assaulted three Dominican diplomats preparing to sail the Cuba to Santo Domingo. Police said the assailants, posing as friends, injured the diplomats before rescue. All three later boarded the steamer. Weather outlook reports rain and snow in the North and Middle Atlantic states with colder conditions by midweek.
