Detroit area sniper spree injures women then captured
A night of random shootings across four Oakland County communities left two women wounded as a 20 year old Southfield Township man Gary Addison Taylor fled in a car chase before being cornered. Police say the suspect confessed to being the phantom sniper and stated he had an urge to shoot at women. The spree began in Bloomfield Hills with Shirley Bland, 19, shot on her porch. The gunman fired from passing cars at two women at a Royal Oak bus stop, and shots hit nearby vehicles. Taylor was held without charge as authorities reviewed the case.
