LeRoy James Hoffman of Reisterstown pleaded guilty to making a false statement on a federal HUD loan application to obtain funds for a Frederick County trailer. FBI spokesman Andy Manning said the trailer at 8610 Hornet's Nest Road near Emmitsburg qualified for a HUD program, yet could not be occupied by his spouse, yet his wife Shirley Newcomer resided there. The false document dated December 1982 led to the charge. Hoffman faces potential imprisonment and fines at sentencing planned by U.S. District Court in Baltimore.
