DROWNS FOR WRONG DOSE INNOCENT CAREER ENDS
A nursing student Hazel Schoenfell, aged twenty, Altoona, died after giving medicine to the wrong patient at Allegheny General hospital. She admitted the error and, after being dismissed, walked into the Allegheny River to end her life. Pedestrians witnessed the act. the body was later recovered and identified. Jury Frees Mrs Mohr in Structure of Murder Case
In Providence R I on February 7 Mrs Elizabeth Mohr was acquitted of instigating the murder of her husband Dr C Franklin Mohr. Defendants C Victor Brown and Henry H Spellman were found guilty of the actual killing and sentenced to life imprisonment. The jury deliberated over seven hours and Judge Stearns cautioned that no confession by Brown or Spellman could be used as Mrs Mohr had not confessed.
