County weighs sheriff HQ site near Frederick amid budget strain
Frederick officials discussed repurposing the old airport building for sheriff offices while noting the county budget is tight. Sheriff Hagg seeks a 12,000 square foot facility near the detention center with good highway access, as deputies currently work cramped on the second floor of the work release building. Commissioners plan to put the issue on the agenda soon, acknowledging the need for a proper headquarters and school overcrowding relief.
