Jury clears Leggett of harassment charges

A Montgomery County Circuit Court jury found council member Isiah Leggett not liable in a 3 count civil suit by former aide Anne Renee Colbert. The 90 minute verdict accepted Leggett’s denial of emotional distress battery and assault. Colbert called the ruling bitterly disappointing and criticized the climate toward women. The jury praised Leggett’s credibility and noted notes claimed by Colbert’s side were not proven.
