Korean truce talks ride waves of Moscow pressure
Washington observers note a pattern in Korean armistice talks as Soviet moves appear to slow negotiations by shifting debate to politics. U N voting firm against fast Korea action, Peiping broadcasts turn conciliatory, while three core issues remain airfield bans, troop rotations, and neutral entry ports. Both sides see potential 48 hour settlement, but Chinese Communist use of propaganda aims to extract recognition and leverage.
