Maryland governor pay hike proposal attracts little support

In Annapolis a Senate hearing drew no witnesses for a 15 000 year raise for the Maryland governor raising the salary from 120 000 to 135 000 while lieutenant governor would rise to 115 000. With the governor and several candidates expressing no desire for the increase the plan faces strong skepticism from lawmakers and critics citing Cabinet salaries and national rankings. A separate proposal seeks an 11 275 raise for judges after a decade without a major increase.
