Winter festival dampened by rain and fog in Thurmont
In Thurmont Catoctin Mountain Park weather damped the annual winter festival with rain and mist reducing attendance to a couple hundred mostly families. Rangers urged use of shuttle van and hay ride while soup in the lodge drew takers. The event marked its fifth year with plans for better conditions, as sled demonstrations used wheels and a mock rescue was staged by the fire company.
