Call To Young People Draws 300 To Meeting
A large turnout for Interdenominational Youth Sunday in Frederick County spurred plans for a County Christian Youth Council. About 300 attendees registered or noted in attendance though rain dampened the day. Contributions reached 185 dollars toward a national outreach goal of one million dollars, with many youths signing My Covenant with God and giving one dollar gifts to support youth work locally nationally and internationally. The Call Projects committee scheduled a February 7 meeting at Trinity Chapel to organize the council, inviting two youths and one adult from each church. Denominational participation included Methodists around 100 and Evangelical and Reformed about 58 among others, with several churches not fully accounted for.
