State crime victims fund running out of money
ANNAPOLIS AP The state fund that helps crime victims is about one year behind on payments because it is short on money. A fee added to court costs last year was supposed to fix the fund but brings in only about half the projected amount. Benjamin Wolman urged the Senate subcommittee to provide more funds, while Sen. Amoss acknowledged the need but offered no promises. Only Gov Schaefer can add to the budget.
