City weighs watershed land deals for public preserves

Frederick officials backed transfers of watershed parcels to public or non profit groups to create nature preserves. A closed door Nov 8 vote authorized staff to pursue transferring 125 acres for a Girl Scout camp and 2,200 acres for a state park expansion, with values cited around 300000 and 5.5 million. Solar energy gains traction across markets

Atlantic Solar president Brent Hekins said demand is rising with sales up about 20 percent year over year at the Baltimore distributor. He noted interest flooding in from as far as California while a new park project will be announced in a few months and production is up 30 percent from last year.

Black raiders in John Brown's raid revealed at Kennedy Farmhouse

On Oct 16 1859 John Brown led raiders toward Harpers Ferry with a federal armory.
