FiveTime Satellite Study Sparks Cold War Curiosity

It notes U S and Soviet efforts, defense department statements, and a broad cultural backdrop including religion and education, with mentions of Forrestal, Sputniks, and the drive to launch small satellites amid Cold War rhetoric. The piece weaves in various local names and institutions reflecting 1950s American civic life.
