Emmitsburg Growth Strains Town Services Amid Developments
Emmitsburg, Md residents near 2,000, show 22 percent decade growth. Mayor Preston cites traffic, police, and a new middle school as priorities. A $250,000 Creamery Road project funded by federal dollars targets a dangerous culvert and turn. New 1991 construction includes duplexes, townhouses, single-family homes and a planned McDonald’s at Mo 14 and Pu Oua. A park upgrade and a historic turn of the century train caboose add value to the town core.
