Beethoven letter may be to beloved at auction in London
A letter from Ludwig van Beethoven to his rumored Immortal Beloved will be sold in London this May by Sotheby's, alongside a Beethoven portrait. The 1816 Vienna letter, not the earlier 1812 note, remains among his papers as experts debate the beloved’s identity while biographers note lingering emotion in the composer’s life.
