Bud Kirk Everglades hermit becomes local fisher and professor
In the Everglades of Florida Bud Kirk known for bare feet and hard-won wisdom lives a life between nature and civilization. The self-taught naturalist traps hides, sells wild orchids, and works as a top fisherman while raising a family and pursuing study at the University of Miami. He reflects on tolerance learned during four years alone in swamp country and contemplates leaving the Everglades for a better future for his children.
