County Man Drowns In Monocacy River
State police and volunteers renew search for Mickey M Beeney of Woodsboro, a 27 year old Navy veteran last seen Wednesday afternoon after his boat tipped on the Monocacy River near LeGore. Muddy banks and high water hampered rescue efforts as 20 rescuers searched with help from local fire departments. Beeney, father of two, served on the U S S Sicily and was said to have gone down without a cry after hitting the water.
