Medical costs burden ten billion dollars yearly
Ten billion dollars in annual medical bills are borne by American families with about 50,000 households facing costs that equal or exceed their annual income. Health secretary Marion B. Folsom cites Life Insurance Association figures to advocate reinsuring or pooling risks to ease the burden. A Christmas party by Girl Scout Troop 45 at North Market Street School featured songs poems and a tree decorated with troop crafts. The gifts and tree were donated to Frederick Memorial Hospital for the children's annex. Fort Din lieutenant Mathew W. Marcus Jr. of the 364th Regiment 69th Infantry Division has been promoted to first lieutenant and is active in several professional and fraternal associations.
