Appeals board nixes Baptist retreat site plan in Frederick
Frederick County Board of Appeals rejected a revised site plan for the 295 acre Baptist Convention of Maryland Delaware retreat at Frostown and Michael Roads. Commissioners opposed added cabins and a 500 seat auditorium citing septic, wetlands and steep slope concerns. Some residents fear a lake would harm the nearby South Mountain Battlefield, though the lake could still be added under the original plan.
